Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, sidelined since suffering a cracked shoulder blade Sept. 12, took live batting practice Monday in Baltimore and expects to return for the postseason.

“I was excited about today,” Tulowitzki said (via the National Post). “I came to the ballpark real early, itching a little bit to get going. It was a good day.”

Tulowitzki was hitting .232/.314/.368 and a .682 OPS in 39 games since joining Toronto at the trade deadline in July when he was hurt in a collision with teammate Kevin Pillar.

The Jays' magic number for clinching the AL East title is two entering Tuesday's games, but at 91-65, they still have the goal of beating out the Royals (90-66) for the best record in the league.
