It appears Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer dishes his political takes the same way he does his 93 mph fastball — with a little extra heat.

While watching the Democratic presidential primary debate Sunday night, Bauer became incensed by the notion that the well-to-do don't pay their dues. So he took to Twitter to share those thoughts with his 36,600 followers, threatening anyone from a lesser tax bracket who challenged his stance with a hasty block.

"I'm just appalled listening to the democratic debate right now," he wrote. "I have the block button ready, get at me."

He followed up a short time later.

"So sick of hearing that the rich people in this country are the problem and we don't pay our fair share. Block button is still ready."

Bauer, a North Hollywood, Calif., native, has done fairly well for himself as a 25-year-old. In 2011, he was drafted third overall by the Diamondbacks, inking a $3.4 million signing bonus at age 20. He's made about $7.3 million in career earnings to date, according to Spotrac.com, and is likely to command more in his first year of arbitration eligibility in 2017 so long as he's able to rebound from a disappointing 2015 — a year in which the once-promising future ace was relegated to a bullpen role as his ERA ballooned to 4.55.

But don't ask him about that. Or about whether he's paying enough in taxes.

Instead, if you'd like to stay on Bauer's good side, you might consider starting a conversation about UFC. That seems to be more up his alley.
