Royals players are having fun at the media's expense by referencing the numbers 17 and 38 in their interview answers.

The 1738 reference comes from Fetty Wap's song "Trap Queen" in which he begins by saying Remy Boyz, 1738. The group's name comes from the brandy Remy Martin and 1738 is the specific type of the Cognac. But that's all beside the point.

The real story is that the Royals players are having fun by using 1738 in the most ridiculous ways when answering questions from the media. They're even fining one another if a player doesn't use the number.

One reporter got upset by the 1738 response and refused to put it in his paper.

Even first base coach Rusty Koontz got into the fun a day later.
