MLB trade rumors: Mets, Reds work through night on Jay Bruce deal image

The Mets and Reds continue to work on a trade that will send outfielder Jay Bruce to New York, according to multiple media reports.

With the clock ticking to the non-waiver trade deadline, the sides are still talking about what the Reds would get in return.

Bruce, 28, would offer the power the Mets so badly need. The left-handed slugger has an .823 OPS this season, and his 17 home runs would rank second on the Mets.

In addition, Bruce is signed through at least 2016, with a team option for $13.5 million for 2017, so he offers value for the price, too.
