Today's Best MLB Bets: Odds, lines, & picks for Tuesday
BetQL Five-Star Bet: Red Sox @ Rays UNDER 7.5 runs (-115, BetMGM)
For our free five-star pick of the day, we’re headed down to Tampa Bay, where the unbeaten Rays are taking on the Red Sox in an AL East showdown. This is a very low total, but the MLB model is red-hot on O/U bets and loving the under here, which probably has a lot to do with the guy on the hill for Tampa.
The Rays will send ace Shane McClanahan to the bump today, and he has picked up right where he left off last season. In his last start, he allowed two earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six across six innings to earn the win against the Nationals. He has struggled with walks a bit, but there is no denying how good he has been. Burnes owns a 1.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with a 12-5 K-to-BB across 12 innings (two starts).
Boston is sending Garrett Whitlock to the mound for his first start of the 2023 season. He’s a relief pitcher, so this could be a bullpen day for the Red Sox if he doesn’t go long here. Last season, Whitlock managed six saves with a 3.45 ERA and 1.02 WHIP, but he has only started nine games in his career. We’ll have to see how he fares as a starter in 2023 before we pass judgment on him here.

Tuesday's top MLB player prop
Brewers SP Corbin Burnes o2.5 ER vs. Diamondbacks (+120, BetMGM)
It’s risky taking this prop because we all know how good Burnes has been in the past, but he has looked very average in 2023. In his last outing against the Mets, he gave up six runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings pitched. Five of the seven hits went for extra bases, including two home runs by Pete Alonso. Plus, Burnes managed just five swinging strikes in the game. It’s been a very rough go of things so far, as he owns a 9.64 ERA in just 9.1 innings through two starts.
Arizona is one of the most underrated teams in the league, and they have the offense at home to keep giving Burnes some problems. We need three against Burnes at a great plus-money number.
