Two-time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum is close to signing a contract with the Los Angeles Angels, according to multiple reports.

The Giants and White Sox were also reportedly interested in Lincecum, but according to MLB Network, Lincecum “loves the Giants but wanted (a) starting job.” The pitcher has spent his entire nine-year career with San Francisco.

Terms of his Angels deal are not yet finalized, but it is expected to be a one-year major league contract, Yahoo Sports reports.

Lincecum, 31, is coming off hip surgery and will probably throw in the minor leagues a few times before joining the Angels’ rotation, according to Yahoo.
