Neither Kelce nor Swift are Yankee fans, but both have ties to baseball. If football did not work out for the Chiefs tight end, baseball was the "backup plan," as Kelce was a strong performer on the diamond.
Meanwhile, Swift previously performed the National Anthem at the World Series. In 2008 when the Phillies faced the Rays in the Fall Classic, Swift performed the "Star Spangled Banner" in front of the Philadelphia crowd at Citizens Bank Park.
Swift is currently on a brief break from touring. Her next show is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18 in Miami, the first of a string of three shows for the musician.
Kelce had the weekend off, so he has the time to fly to New York. The Chiefs enjoyed a bye in Week 6. Kansas City is one of two teams without a loss on its record, as Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and company sit at 5-0 heading into Week 7.
