Baseball is back in action, which means numbers will be flying around as fantasy owners try to calculate who is trending in which direction.

One game is obviously too small of a sample size to judge a player, but we will take a look at some of the positives and negatives that came out of opening day for six MLB teams.

Here are our three studs and duds from Sunday's action:

Studs

SP Marcus Stroman, Blue Jays — Picking up where he left off last season, Toronto's new ace allowed just three runs in eight innings while striking out five batters. Stroman's good form led the Blue Jays to a 5-3 win against the Tampa Bay Rays.

SP Francisco Liriano, Pirates — Liriano spun six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts in a 4-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The NL Central clash was a good way to get the 2016 MLB season started as Liriano proved he still has lights-out stuff.

1B Eric Hosmer, Royals — It's taken a while, but it finally looks like Hosmer is starting to cash in on his immense talent. This time, he went 3 for 4 with an RBI to lead Kansas City to a 4-3 win against the Mets, the same team he destroyed in the World Series last year.

Duds

OF Starling Marte, Royals — Surprisingly batting cleanup, Marte floundered in his first game in 2016, finishing the 0 for 4 with a strikeout in his team's win. It will be interesting to see if the Pirates keep in the No. 4 spot, because most of his success has come batting second.

2B Logan Forsythe, Rays — Batting leadoff, Forsythe went 0 for 4 with a strikeout and a run scored in the loss to Toronto. Expectations are high on Forsythe this season, so it's important he doesn't have too many more games like this.

SP Matt Harvey, Mets — The Dark Knight gave up four runs (three earned) on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. It wasn't the way Harvey wanted to start the season after last year's World Series debacle against Kansas City. He also only had two strikeouts to go with his two walks in a losing effort, so this was an all-around forgettable game.
