Cardinals send rookies on coffee run in Chicago — in full uniform image

The Windy City isn’t particularly fond of the Cardinals. So when the wily Redbird veterans had a hankering for Starbucks, sending the rookies on a caffeine run in full uniform was the obvious solution.

It’s not uncommon for rookies to serve as coffee and breakfast mules, but while taking orders Tuesday, the clubhouse suggested they make the day’s run a little special by wearing their uniforms.

It’s unclear how local fans treated the guys from their bitter rivals, but the Redbirds appeared to make it back to Wrigley unharmed before dropping both games to the hometown Cubbies.
