The Redbirds are deep in the red.

After a promising 2022 season, the Cardinals came into 2023 with high hopes. But as the saying goes, "It's the hope that kills you."

A week before the All-Star break, St. Louis was in last place in the NL Central and trailed by double digits in both the division and wild-card races.

Time will tell whether the Cardinals become sellers at the trade deadline, but there's not a lot of time left. Nolan Arenado has struggled at the plate, the defense has been subpar and the pitching staff has been far too generous to opposing offenses. It would be easier to list the players who have lived up to expectations.

With less than half a season to play, St. Louis has its work cut out for it as it attempts to fly back into the postseason.

If you want to find out how it all turns out, here is how you can watch the Cardinals without cable the rest of the 2023 season:

St. Louis Cardinals live streams

Almost all Cardinals games are shown on Bally Sports Midwest, which is facing an uncertain future along with the other Bally regional sports networks. Fubo carries Bally Sports Midwest, which makes it the best option in the market to watch Cardinals games without cable.

On top of that, the Cardinals have partnered with Fubo, becoming the third MLB team to do so. Fans can now sign up for a free trial. Season-ticket holders receive a 30-day trial while others in the local market can get their first 14 days free.

How to watch Cardinals games without cable

Those without cable are in luck — there are plenty of ways to watch Cardinals baseball.

— First, there is Fubo. The streamer carries Bally Sports Midwest (BSM) in the St. Louis market, but blackout restrictions apply out of market.

— Another option in the market is DirecTV Stream, which also carries Bally Sports Midwest. This option includes all the channels for national broadcasts, as well.

— For fans outside the Cardinals' market, MLB.tv carries St. Louis games. Viewers can sign up for a subscription that includes broadcasts of every team, or a subscription that provides Cardinals broadcasts only.

— Nationally televised games can be seen on a variety of streamers, with some exceptions. Fubo, SlingTV, and DirecTV Stream all carry ESPN, MLB Network, Fox and FS1. YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV carry ESPN, Fox and FS1 but not MLB Network.

Fubo subscribers can add the MLB.tv package to their subscription for $24.99 a month.
