There's nothing quite as synonymous as Pete Rose and betting in Major League Baseball, so it's no surprise he had some thoughts regarding the situation surrounding Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani.
The start of the 2024 season has been dominated by an off-field storyline surrounding Ohtani's interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, who was fired by the Dodgers just mere hours after the first game of the season in South Korea after reports surfaced that he allegedly committed "massive thefts" against Ohtani.
When another report surfaced that Mizuhara has significant gambling debts, much of the focus turned to finding about as much detail as possible, and just how involved Ohtani is with the situation.
Ohtani is expected to make a statement in front of the media Monday, but whether any questions are answered from the matter remain to be seen.
Rose, who remains permanently on baseball's ineligible list, had some thoughts of his own on the matter.
