Mets GM Sandy Alderson faints while talking to reporters image

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson fainted while talking to reporters just after the conclusion of a press conference Wednesday morning to announce manager Terry Collins' new contract.

Several reporters tweeted about the incident that occurred while Alderson was talking to print reporters off to the side after the formal press conference had finished.

The 67-year-old is a longtime baseball executive who just wrapped up his fifth season in charge of baseball operations with the Mets. He previously worked for the Padres and Athletics and spent eight years as MLB's vice president for baseball operations.
