Royals vs. Astros predictions
— SN's Jesse Spector sees the Astros making this a close series, but it won't be enough against the Royals' home-field advantage. "Houston's homer-happy lineup is well-suited to playoff baseball, but not so much to spacious Kauffman Stadium," he writes. More here.
— SN's Ryan Fagan sees Kansas City's resurgent starting pitching being the difference in this series. "It's not just that the team actually stopped losing on a regular basis. It's that two of the biggest disappointments in the rotation — Yordano Ventura and Johnny Cueto — finally showed something resembling the mythical 'postseason form' down the stretch," he writes. More here.
— According to The Linemakers, Vegas gives the Royals a big edge in this series. More details on the series odds here.
Blue Jays vs. Rangers predictions
— Spector sees the Blue Jays bats overwhelming the Rangers. "The pitching staff capable of shutting down this all-world Toronto lineup does exist, but it does not belong to the Rangers," he writes. More here.
— Fagan expects a short series in Toronto's favor as well. "Potentially two games of David Price (if the second one's needed, which might not be the case) and one start from Marcus Stroman should be enough to get the Jays past the Rangers," he writes. More here.
— Vegas likes the Blue Jays in convincing fashion as well. More details here.
