Coming off his worst season since 2008, Robinson Cano insists he's "100 percent" happy with the Mariners and can't wait for spring training to begin.

The second baseman spoke to the New York Daily News on Saturday in the Dominican Republic, where he opened a Montessori school last month.

There have been rumblings in recent months that Cano wouldn't mind a return to the Yankees, though the eight years and $192 million remaining on his contract make a move anywhere highly unlikely.

"I don't want to comment on that because I don't want to make a big deal about it," Cano said. "Whoever says that, I don't know why they say that."

Whatever his level of commitment to Seattle, the six-time All-Star acknowledged that his stomach is not yet 100 percent. Cano said in an interview this summer that he has been bothered by a digestive ailment since being diagnosed with a parasite in October 2014. He told the Daily News that his stomach feels "a little better" but still isn't back to normal.

Cano, who turned 33 in October, hit .287/.334/.446 and had a career-high 107 strikeouts in 2015.
