The Reds are set to hire veteran manager Terry Francona.
Cincinnati is reportedly targeting Francona after taking a one-year hiatus away from the dugout, per MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
The 65-year-old stepped down from his job with the Guardians in 2023 but appears ready to return to managing. Francona has led three different franchises over 23 seasons at the helm, most notably winning two World Series with the Red Sox in 2004 and '07.

Reds to hire Terry Francona
The Reds will hire Francona as early as Friday, MLB.com's Feinsand reported Thursday.
The 65-year-old skipper served as a manager for the Phillies (1997-00), Red Sox (2004-11), and Guardians (2013-23), collecting 23 years of experience in the dugout.
Cleveland went 76-86 in 2023 — Francona's most recent season as a manager. It was one of only two sub-.500 seasons across a decade with the Guardians. Cleveland had six postseason appearances under Francona but only made it out of the Divisional Series once, reaching the World Series in a losing effort to the Cubs in 2016.
Francona is known for being the manager to snap the Red Sox's historic 86-year World Series drought, leading Boston to championships in both 2004 and '07.
