Red Sox's offensive woes continue; lose to Mets 7-2 image

The Boston Red Sox struggled once again at the plate, and lost to the New York Mets 7-2. They are now 7-12 in the last 19 games.

Starting pitcher Kutter Crawford had another good outing, but the offense could not produce for him once again. He gave up two runs in six innings, and struck out eight batters.

The bullpen once again helped blow the game, giving up five runs in the last 2 innings they pitched. It wasn’t entirely their fault, as the Sox offense had a chance to capitalize in the top of the eighth, and only scored one run, to make it 3-2, when there was a chance to make it 4-3. The Sox struck out 13 times in this game as well, not able to hit the ball at all.

Since they didn’t, set-up man Chris Martin went out to pitch hoping to hold the game at 3-2, and got absolutely waxed by the Mets.

The Sox play to avoid the sweep tomorrow at 7:10pm EST.
