This offseason, the Boston Red Sox sent lefty starter Chris Sale to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for infielder Vaughn Grissom.
Grissom, 23, was a top prospect in the Braves system before making his debut in 2022.
Last season, he spent 80 games with the big league club, hitting .280 with nine RBIs and a .659 OPS.
While Grissom was expected to be Boston's starting second baseman to begin the year, a groin injury delayed his start to the 2024 campaign.
Now, he's set to make his debut for the Red Sox after playing in nine games for the team's Triple-A affiliate in Worcester. In those games, he hit .333 with two RBIs, two stolen bases and an .844 OPS.
Grissom should bring consistency to the position that Boston has lacked since Dustin Pedroia was injured back in 2017, and that, in itself, will be a huge boost to this team.
