The Boston Red Sox have been hit, backed up over and hit again by the injury bug so far this season, and the news just keeps getting worse.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that first baseman Triston Casas has a rib fracture, and he'll be out for a while, according to the Boston Globe's Julian McWilliams.
Casas had started the first 22 games of the 2024 season for Boston, hitting .244 with an .850 OPS and six home runs.
Since he left in the first inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates over a week ago, the Red Sox have relied on Bobby Dalbec and Pablo Reyes at first base.
With the news, they made to add another name to the mix.
