Few MLB teams enter the 2024 season stuck in more of an in-between position than the Red Sox.
Boston is coming off consecutive last place finishes, and the AL East isn't getting any easier — not with the Yankees acquiring Juan Soto and the Orioles reeling in Corbin Burnes. By contrast, Boston's biggest splash of the offseason won't pitch this season: Lucas Giolito, inked to a two-year contract, is sidelined after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
Understandably, the Red Sox fanbase is starved for success. There are still pieces here to contend. Rafael Devers is a franchise cornerstone in the middle of the lineup, and Brayan Bello is on the verge of blossoming into an ace.
Will things break right for Boston this season, allowing them to crash what many assume will be a four-horse race for the AL East crown? Or is a third consecutive fifth-place finish on the horizon? Here's how to watch the Red Sox with the 2024 season beginning on Thursday.
How to watch Red Sox games without cable
Fans in the Boston market can watch Red Sox games on Fubo, which carries Boston's regional sports network, NESN. Fubo also offers a free trial, so you can try before you buy.
Those out of market will not be able to watch the Red Sox via Fubo, as NESN is not carried as an out-of-market RSN. But, they will able to watch nationally televised games, such as those on MLB Network and ESPN.
If you live outside the Red Sox market, you can use an MLB.tv subscription to watch the 2024 season. Options include a yearly subscription for $149.99, or a monthly subscription of $29.99 a month. But, this is only an option if you live outside the Boston market, or else the Red Sox games will be blacked out.
You can see blackout restrictions using MLB's blackout tool.
