The young star first baseman of the Boston Red Sox Triston Casas is now taking full batting practice after suffering torn cartilage on his rib cage back in April. According to Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow, Casas may even begin his rehab assignment by the end of the week.

This season, Casas was hitting .244 and had six home runs in 22 games. If he had been around, the Sox definitely would not be lacking in the hitting department. Casas, Rafael Devers, and Tyler O’Neill would have been the three power bats in the lineup. A lot of games the Sox lost could have been wins if Casas was at the plate.

With his possible return by the end of this season, the Sox would definitely could be contenders for the playoffs.
