The Boston Red Sox have been having some bad injury luck to start the 2024 campaign, and the issues continued during Monday's contest against the Cleveland Guardians.
With two outs in the top of the seventh inning, Guardians outfielder Estevan Florial hit a fly ball to shallow left field, causing left fielder Tyler O'Neill and Rafael Devers to both chase the popup. The two collided, head-first and crumbled to the field.
While Devers may have held onto the ball to record the out, the crowd was left in stunned silence, as both players remained on the field for some time even after the training staff came out.

O'Neill, who appeared to be bleeding after the collision, was brought back to the clubhouse right away while Devers remained in the game.
The move forced Ceddanne Rafaela to move back to centerfield, Jarren Duran to move to left and David Hamilton to enter at shortstop.
