The Boston Red Sox enter Marathon Monday with a winning record, as they prepare to host the Cleveland Guardians for a four-game series at Fenway Park.
Boston will send Kutter Crawford to the mound for his fourth start of the year, and Alex Cora has put out a lineup that includes Rafael Devers for the first time in a while and Ceddanne Rafaela at a new position.
- Jarren Duran CF
- Rafael Devers 3B
- Tyler O'Neill LF
- Triston Casas 1B
- Masataka Yoshida DH
- Wilyer Abreu RF
- Enmanuel Valdez 2B
- Reese McGuire C
- Ceddanne Rafaela
Crawford has allowed just one earned run in 15 2/3 innings while striking out 18. He's had some trouble with the command, though, as he's walked eight in that time. Six Guardians have recorded hits against him - Will Brennan (1-for-3 with a solo home run), Estevan Florial (1-for-2 with an RBI), Andres Gimenez (1-for-5), Steven Kwan (2-for-7), Josh Naylor (3-for-5 with an RBI) and Jose Ramirez (2-for-6 with a solo home run).
Cleveland is sending Xzavion Curry to the bump, as he's set to make his 2024 debut. Last year, he appeared in 41 games, posting a 4.07 ERA and a 1.347 WHIP. Only three Red Sox have recorded hits off of him - Casas (1-for-1), Devers (1-for-2) and Connor Wong (1-for-1).
