During the Boston Red Sox's 10-7 loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, third baseman Rafael Devers exited the game late with a knee injury.

Devers had just returned to the lineup on Monday after missing multiple games due to a shoulder injury that he had been dealing with since spring training.

After the game, Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that they'd be doing some imaging on the knee on Wednesday.

Devers, according to those who were present, was down and frustrated post-game.

"I've never had any issues with my legs," Devers said (transcribed by Tom Caron). "That happened today. I don't know what's going on....I don't know what to think about it I've never been the kind of player that's been injured obviously it's frustrating to feel with another pain."

Without Devers in the lineup, Boston will likely have to turn to Bobby Dalbec at third base. Even though Devers hasn't been great this season, a move to Dalbec would be a significant drop-off, as the 29-year-old has yet to record a hit in his 19 at-bats, striking out 12 times.
