The Boston Red Sox's Thursday night battle with the Detroit Tigers at Fenway Park started out as a pitchers' duel, and Boston's starter, Nick Pivetta, did something incredible.
Pivetta struck out eight straight batters from the first inning through the third, which tied Rogers Clemens' franchise record that he set in his 20-strikeout game in 1986.
Tigers centerfielder Riley Greene ended the streak in the fourth inning by grounding out to second baseman Vaughn Grissom.
Both Pivetta and Detroit starter Jack Flaherty didn't allow a single hit through the first four innings.
