The Boston Red Sox have a chance to earn a series win on Saturday, as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second of a three-game series at PNC Park.
Unfortunately for the contest, Boston will once again be without Rafael Devers, as he deals with a knee issue.
Here's what the Red Sox's lineup will look like for the matchup with Kutter Crawford on the bump:
- Jarren Duran CF
- Wilyer Abreu LF
- Rob Refsnyder RF
- Triston Casas 1B
- Masataka Yoshida DH
- Bobby Dalbec 3B
- Enmanuel Valdez 2B
- Reese McGuire C
- Ceddanne Rafaela SS
Crawford has been impressive to start the season, allowing just one earned run in 21 1/3 innings while striking out 24. However, he's yet to receive a decision in his four starts.
Three Pirates have recorded hits off of him in his career - Ke'Bryan Hayes (1-for-2 with an RBI), Bryan Reynolds (3-for-3 with two home runs) and Jack Suwinski (1-for-1 with an RBI).
Pittsburgh is sending Mitch Keller to the mound in this contest. He's allowed 12 earned in 24 innings thus far while striking out 21. Only one active member of the Red Sox has recorded a hit off of him - Casas (1-for-3).
A win would improve Boston's record to 12-10 to start the year and 9-3 on the road. It would also be their fourth series win of 2024.
