After getting swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Boston Red Sox are hosting the Toronto Blue Jays for what is essentially a five-game series starting Monday afternoon, as the teams resume a previously suspended game.

For the matchup, Boston will send Nick Pivetta to the mound while Toronto will counter with Ryan Burr.

Pivetta has been all right for Boston this season, posting a 4.70 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP while striking out 125 batters in his 20 starts. He's allowed three or fewer runs in three of his last four outings. Six Blue Jays have recorded hits against him in his career - Ernie Clement (2-for-3), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (8-for-34 with a three runs, seven RBIs and six walks), Alejandro Kirk (4-for-2 with two RBIs and four walks), Davis Schneider (2-for-7 with a solo home run and a walk), George Springer (11-for-30 with a home run, three RBIs and four walks) and Daulton Varsho (4-for-11 with two home runs, three RBIs and a walk).

Burr has struggled for Toronto in his 20 outings (one start) in 2024, posting a 5.12 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP while striking out 25 batters. He's allowed two runs in his previous five appearances (five innings). Only one Red Sox has ever recorded a hit against the 30-year-old - Rafael Devers (1-for-1).
