The Boston Red Sox may not be having the most successful season through the first 60 games of 2024, but they have a lot to look forward to in the future.
One player who the organization and fans are putting their hopes into is catcher prospect Kyle Teel.
Teel has been putting on a show for Boston's Double-A affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs, recently.
Last week, Teel appeared in six games, hitting .417 with three home runs, 11 RBIs, three walks and two stolen bases. Those included a game-tying three-run shot on Friday and a go-ahead grand slam on Saturday.
The 22-year-old's efforts were enough to earn him Eastern League Player of the Week honors.
It wouldn't be too surprising to see Teel earn a promotion to Triple-A Worcester in the near future with a shot at the big leagues being right around the corner.
