The Boston Red Sox entered Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with a chance to earn a series win a PNC Park, and they achieved just that with a 4-2 victory.

Boston's starter Kutter Crawford was great once again, allowing just one run in six innings of work. Because of how good he'd been in his first few starts, this game actually brought his season ERA up on the year to 0.66.

After losing first baseman Triston Casas in the first inning, Boston's offense still found a way to put up runs, with Wilyer Abreu (1-for-2 with three walks) driving in a run, Bobby Dalbec (0-for-4) driving in another and Masataka Yoshida (3-for-4) scoring two on his sixth-inning home run.

The Red Sox bullpen was decent after Crawford exited, allowing just two hits and one run in the final three innings. Closer Kenley Jansen had his best appearance of the year so far striking out all three batters he faced in the ninth.

This win gives Boston a 12-10 record in their first 22 games of the 2024 campaign and a 9-3 record on the road. They'll have a chance to sweep Pittsburgh on Sunday.
