Boston Red Sox fans are hoping that Detroit Tigers star pitcher Jack Flaherty could be on the move to Boston after he was scratched from his start today.

The Sox front office has been watching Flaherty for a while. This season, he has posted a 2.95 ERA, a 7-5 record, and over 130 strikeouts. Flaherty has done all of this while being on the Tigers, who are fourth place in the AL Central division.

The Sox would probably have to give up a lot of prospects, but the way Flaherty is playing would really help the Sox, as their main problem is pitching.

If Flaherty does end up on the Sox, someone from the starting rotation will have to move to the bullpen. This will be a hard choice now that the Sox also acquired starter James Paxton, and all the other pitchers are doing well as starters.

However, whoever would be chosen to go to the bullpen would also help the Sox’s problem of an overworked bullpen.
