The Boston Red Sox have been dealing with a number of injuries early in this 2024 season, and manager Alex Cora announced another pitcher is managing something after Sunday's win.

According to Cora (via. Ian Browne), reliever Chris Martin has a sore non-throwing shoulder which has him day-to-day as the team allows him to rest.

Martin was incredible for Boston in 2023, his first season with the team, posting a 1.05 ERA in 55 appearances for the club.

To start this season, Martin has allowed four earned runs, all of which came in his last two appearances against the Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles.

Without him in the bullpen, Boston will have to rely on guys like Justin Slaten and Greg Weissert to step up for high-leverage outs. Slaten has allowed just two earned runs in 13 innings of work so far this year, striking out nine. Weissert has allowed one earned run in 7 1/3 innings so far while striking out eight.
