On Monday night, the Boston Red Sox downed the Kansas City Royals 9-5 on 18 hits at Kauffman Stadium to improve to 60-51 on the season and 33-23 away from Fenway Park.
While the win itself is always great to secure, this one was even more special for Red Sox manager Alex Cora.
That win was Cora's 500th win the team, making him just the fourth manager in franchise history to reach that mark.
Last month, he passed Bill Carrigan (489) on Boston's all-time managerial wins list. Cora now sits behind only Mike Higgins (560), Terry Francona (744) and Joe Cronin (1,071; player/manager).
This is an incredible milestone for the 48-year-old, and with his recently signed extension, he'll have a chance to pass both Higgins and Francona before it's done.
