Rangers fan hits home run at Globe Life Park, wins free season tickets image

Byron Anderson belted a home run into the left field bleachers Saturday at Globe Life Park, and Rangers fans jumped and screamed with joy.

Byron Anderson, you say? Who is that? No, he's not some hot new prospect up from the minors. Anderson is just a Rangers fan, but he did smack a home run into the stands in a contest involving prospective Rangers season ticket holders.

His prize: free season tickets.

Anderson, who played collegiately at Division II Tarleton State, posted a video of his feat on his Facebook page.

Placed a $2,000 bet on me and it paid off...

Anderson, one of 20 participants, hit the only home run of the contest. Using a wooden bat against a pitching machine, he hit the ball into Section 8 of the lower reserved seats, according to the Dallas Morning News.

And now Anderson will be attending 2016 games in style. He originally had two half-season ticket packages in the Lexus Club Terrace. The Rangers upgraded him to four seats in the Lexus Club Box.

That's the equivalent of $8,500 in in free season tickets. Not bad for one swing of the bat.
