Rangers relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress was arrested early Friday in Dallas County, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported, citing jail records and an unidentified source who says the arrest was for DWI.

A right-hander, Jeffress, 28, came to the first-place Rangers from the Brewers at the trade deadline and since arriving in Texas has allowed four runs in nine one-inning appearances. He has 56 appearances overall in 2016 with a 2-2 record and 2.52 ERA.

According to the Star-Telegram, jail records show he was booked into the Dallas County Jail at 5:13 a.m. CT Friday.

Jeffress has been suspended twice under MLB's drug program, both times for testing positive for marijuana while in the minors: 50 games in 2008 and 100 games in 2009.
