The youth movement in Pittsburgh has added a couple of new faces.
The Pirates announced on Saturday they were calling up shortstop Cole Tucker and outfielder Bryan Reynolds to make their major league debuts. They were slotted in first and fifth in Pittsburgh's lineup, respectively, for its game against the Giants.

The team announced that it placed Starling Marte on the 10-day IL with an abdominal wall contusion and Erik Gonzalez on the 60-day IL with a left clavicle fracture to make room for Tucker and Reynolds.
Tucker, the Pirates No. 5 overall prospect per MLBPipeline, has slashed .333/.415/.579 in 57 at-bats in Triple-A. The former first-round pick was given a 60-grade speed tool and stole 82 bases between 2017 and 2018.
Reynolds is listed as the team's No. 8 prospect, and, like Tucker, has gotten off to a red-hot start in Triple-A, homering five times in 49 at-bats. He has yet to hit below .300 at any level since being drafted in 2016. The Pirates acquired Reynolds in exchange for Andrew McCutchen in January 2018.
The Pirates are hoping the two youngsters can give their shoddy lineup a boost. Their offense is currently in the bottom five in the MLB in runs scored, home runs and total bases.
