Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a right elbow strain.
Nola, 23, had been struggling since June, giving up at least five earned runs in six of his last eight starts. But the Phillies maintained that there was not anything physically wrong with the right-hander.

Now that Nola is on the DL, there is no timetable for his return.

Phil Klein was recalled in a corresponding roster move to start Wednesday night against the San Francisco Giants.
