Phillies shortstop Jean Segura exits after taking fastball off batting helmet image

Phillies shortstop Jean Segura left Saturday's game against the Marlins in the second inning after getting hit in the head by a fastball from Trevor Richards.

The 90 mph pitch rode in high on Segura, and as he turned his head, it hit his helmet's brim just above his temple and left eye. The impact spun the helmet off his head.

Segura stayed down for a moment but appeared to be okay as he got up and walked off the field. He was replaced by Sean Rodriguez.

Segura, 29, had just been activated off the injured list earlier that day, having not played since April 16 because of a strained hamstring. He's off to a fast start this season, with a .861 OPS in 67 at-bats entering the game.
