WATCH: Phillies complete first-ever triple play at Petco Park image

The Philadelphia Phillies completed a 5-4-3 triple play Sunday in the seventh inning against the San Diego Padres for the first triple play in Petco Park's 12-year history.

With runners on first and second, Padres pinch-hitter Jabari Blash hit a grounder to Maikel Franco at third. He stepped on the bag and fired to second baseman Cesar Hernandez to erase Jose Rondon. Hernandez's relay to first baseman Ryan Howard beat Blash by a step.

It was the Phillies' first triple play since doing it against the New York Mets on Aug. 23, 2009.
