Pete Rose on his reinstatement chances: 'I'm not gonna make any odds' image

You have to wake up pretty early in the morning to get one over on Charlie Hustle.

Pete Rose had the chance to meet MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred before Tuesday's MLB All-Star Game at the Reds' Great American Ball Park. The two plan to get together at a later date to discuss the possibility of reinstating Rose, who has been banned from the sport for the past 26 years because he bet on baseball as a manager and player. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal tried to trip up Rose, who received a king's welcome from the more than 43,000 fans in attendance, during an interview, asking him what he thought his chances of being a part of baseball again were. Rose handled it like a champ.

"I'm not gonna make any odds now," Rose said, with a chuckle. "Kenny, we're not gonna do that. Get outta there. I don't know. If he's a fair man, he's willing to give someone a second chance. I'll be the happiest guy in the world, but I understand he's got a tough job. But I'm a good guy. I'm not the same guy as I was 29 years ago."
