Pete Rose is going into the Hall of Fame.

No, Rob Manfred hasn’t had a change of heart. The all-time hits leader will be honored as a member of the Reds Hall of Fame.

“Inducting Pete into the Reds Hall of Fame will be a defining moment in the 147-year history of this storied franchise,” team president Bob Castellini said Tuesday (via WXIX-TV) in a prepared statement. “He is one of the greatest players to ever wear a Reds uniform and it will be an unforgettable experience watching him being honored as such."

Major League Baseball last year denied Rose’s application to have a lifetime ban lifted.

A ceremony to honor Rose is scheduled to take place during the 2016 Reds Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, June 24-26.
