Scanning a crowd of supporters gathered Tuesday in Jupiter, Fla., Donald Trump paused his victory speech and set his sights on one in particular.

"We have Paul O'Neill of the Yankees here!" shouted the Republican presidential candidate. "Stand up, Paul!"

Trump then asked if he could have O'Neill's endorsement, and the former Yankees outfielder and current YES analyst obliged, prompting an "I love you!" from the GOP front-runner.

O'Neill was at the Trump National Golf Course attending Trump's bizarre news conference to celebrate victories in the Michigan and Mississippi Republican primaries. A self-proclaimed "big Trump supporter," he was seen shmoozing with the controversial New York businessman prior to the speech.

O'Neill, who played 15 major league seasons with the Reds and Yankees, hails from the red state of Ohio. Trump is considered a favorite to win the state's critical primary March 15.
