The Baltimore Orioles widely are considered to be one of the top teams in baseball and just got even better.

Baltimore has been one of the best teams in baseball all year so far but injuries to the starting rotation have had a negative impact on the team. The Orioles are in first place in the American League East with a 63-44 record but could be even better.

The Orioles clearly know this and have been one of the most active teams in baseball in trying to improve the starting rotation. Baltimore recently acquired Zach Eflin in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays and followed it up by reportedly acquiring Trevor Rogers from the Miami Marlins, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

"Trade news: The Baltimore Orioles are finalizing a deal to acquire left-hander Trevor Rogers from the Miami Marlins, sources tell ESPN," Passan said. "Infielder Connor Norby and one other player are headed to Miami in the trade. Within the last week, the Orioles have landed Zach Eflin from the Rays and now Trevor Rogers from the Marlins to fortify their rotation. The deal for Rogers, which Ken Rosenthal first reported, lands Baltimore a pitcher who is under team control through 2026."

Norby was Baltimore's No. 5 prospect before being moved to Miami. It's a win-now move to add another veteran hurler and All-Star to town to help down the stretch. Plus, both Rogers and Eflin are under contract beyond this season.

Baltimore already was considered one of the top World Series contenders in baseball but now should be ranked even higher.
