It appears that there's some collateral damage from former Rockies All-Star Troy Tulowitzki's feud with Colorado general manager Jeff Bridich: current Rockies All-Star Nolan Arenado's feelings.

According to the Denver Post, Arenado takes exception to comments in Monday’s story in USA Today in which Tulowitzki criticizes the “country club” atmosphere at the Rockies’ 85,000-square-foot clubhouse/office complex at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, Ariz.

“I’ve told you that Tulo is my boy, and he still is my friend,” Arenado told the Post. “But obviously, Tulo has some anger still. I don’t know if it’s the right way to be saying it in the media, but that’s his business and that’s how he’s handling it.

“But I don’t think it’s a country club here. I think it’s just a matter of guys putting their work in. I don’t agree with the ‘country club’ statement.”

At issue is Tulowitzki's assessment of the difference between the Rockies' complex and that of his new team, the Blue Jays, an aging throwback to spring training days of yore in Dunedin, Fla.

“I like this place a lot better than Arizona,’’ Tulowitzki told USA Today.

Apparently all in the eyes of the beholder, the Post noted.

“That place was like a country club. Guys got comfortable because it was so nice," Tulowitzki said. “This place has a better feel. It reminds you of spring training. The way it’s supposed to be.’’
