It wasn't enough that the Royals subjected the Mets to not one, but two, awkward World Series ceremonies this week, but the club also thought it amusing to poke fun at Mets starter Noah Syndergaard's long, blond hair shortly after getting their rings Tuesday.

When Syndergaard took the mound for the first inning at Kauffman Stadium, the Royals played "American Woman" over the speakers.

"I thought it was pretty funny how they were playing it when I was warming up for the first inning," Syndergaard told reporters after a 2-0 Mets win. "They got me on that one, it's fine. Normally I don't hear that kind of thing but I took notice to that."

The Royals' trolling, along with a booing crowd, did little to affect "Thor's" performance. The 23-year-old right-hander allowed just three hits over six innings and struck out nine as the Mets split their opening two-game series in Kansas City.
