The New York Yankees are back on a winning streak.

Behind some eye-popping home runs and some stellar pitching in key situations, the Yankees defeated the Royals, 10-1, at Kaufmann Stadium.

After dropping the first two games over the weekend against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Yankees salvaged the final game of that series and now have started this four-game series against the Royals with a pair of victories.

The Yankees now have a 26-11 record on the road, the best in MLB, and they've won their last seven games away from Yankee Stadium.

No time to waste

With Aaron Judge and Juan Soto back in the lineup in their typical spots for the first time since the latter's forearm injury, the Yankees offense got right to work in the first inning. 

After Anthony Volpe's 11th triple of the season, Soto followed that up with a walk. Judge flared a ball to right field, scoring Volpe. Soto eventually scored with a nifty slide on an RBI fielder's choice from Giancarlo Stanton.

It was the second night in a row the Yankees scored two runs in the first inning.

It isn't enough for these two gargantuan human beings to simply provide the aesthetic of looking like Greek gods in the box. They have to show off the power, too.

Judge turned the game into a rout during the top of the seventh inning, hammering a hanging breaking ball 436 feet into the night for a two-run home run. It was his 25th of the season.

Two batters later, Stanton didn't want Judge to feel lonely so he hit one of his own. Stanton crushed a ball 446 feet to dead center field to give the Yankees a 10-0 lead.

Austin Wells opened the flood gates

The Yankees extended their lead with a huge inning in the fourth, capped off by a three-run homer from Austin Wells. After Gleyber Torres got on the board with an RBI single to get the scoring going, Wells smoked a ball to center field for his second home run of the season.

With a 103.5 mph exit velocity, Wells' home run would have gone out in 26-of-30 MLB parks.

Another solid outing from Marcus Stroman

Though he got pulled with the bases loaded, starter Marcus Stroman gave the Yankees another strong outing. Stroman didn't have his typical nasty stuff, but he gutted out a strong outing. He generated only four swings and misses. Yet, he still managed to get the Yankees into the sixth inning.

Stroman's line of 5.2 innings, four hits, no runs, three walks and one strike out helped lower his season ERA to 2.82. He got a little help from Ron Marinaccio, who struck out Drew Waters with a 95 mph fastball to strand the bases loaded.
