New York Yankees right-handed pitcher Nick Burdi was placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 17, due to hip inflammation, the team announced Friday.
Burdi is the latest Yankees relief pitcher to hit the injured list during this young season. The Yankees will be without Jonathan Loaisiga (elbow) for the remainder of the campaign, and Tommy Kahnle continues to work his way back from shoulder inflammation he dealt with during Spring Training.

The hard-throwing Burdi has dealt with injuries throughout his career. In 6.1 innings pitched, Burdi allowed no runs, two hits and five walks while striking out eight batters.
With Burdi on the injured list, the Yankees recalled right-handed pitcher Cody Morris from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In four games at Triple-A, Morris has logged 9.1 innings pitched allowing two runs, five hits and six walks. He's struck out 11 batters and has allowed a .152 batting average against.
The Yankees also announced that outfielder Taylor Trammell was added to the active roster after claiming him off waivers Thursday.
