The start of Monday's game between the New York Yankees and Miami Marlins was pushed back four hours due to potential delays with the solar eclipse, the team announced Thursday.
The original start time for Monday's game was 2:05 p.m. ET. However, the team announced first pitch will be pushed back to 6:05 p.m. ET due to the solar eclipse.
The team released a statement regarding the change:
"After reconsidering the challenges of playing through Monday's solar eclipse, including potential in-game delays, Major League Baseball and the Yankees have rescheduled the start time of the Yankees-Marlins game on April 8 at Yankee Stadium from 2:05 p.m. to 6:05 p.m."
The gates will open at 3:00 p.m. ET and the first 15,000 fans in attendance will receive a Yankees Solar Eclipse T-Shirt.
