The New York Yankees lost their home opener, 3-0, against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday afternoon, but starting pitcher Marcus Stroman displayed some absolutely filthy stuff during his outing.
Stroman has been the anchor of a Yankees starting rotation that has been shaky to begin the season. The rotation hasn't been bad on any terms, but it's clear the absence of Gerrit Cole is felt. Having Stroman provide the type of stability he has helps immensely.

During Friday's home opener, Stroman went 6.0 shutout innings, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out six. In 12 innings pitched this season, Stroman has yet to allow an earned run.
That's easy to understand when he's throwing some nasty stuff like this cutter against Vladmir Guerrero Jr.

Or this disgusting sinker that came back over the outside corner of the plate.

Even lefties couldn't comprehend the movement on this strikeout.

The Yankees are looking to bounce back from their home opening loss on Friday but if they can get this type of consistency from Stroman, the rotation will be in great shape once Cole returns.
