New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto continues an incredible start to the season, and his recent honors are proof of that.
Soto was named the American League Player of the Week, the league announced Monday following his incredible stretch over the last six games.
During that stretch, Soto went 10-for-23 (.435) in 28 plate appearances. He recorded three home runs, nine RBI and four walks to go along with a .500 OBP and 1.500 OPS.
The star outfielder capped off the incredible week with another display of clutch hitting by smoking a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning against the San Francisco Giants to lead the Yankees to a sweep on the West Coast.

Soto has been everything the Yankees could have hoped for and more when they acquired him in a trade this offseason. The duo of him and Yankees captain Aaron Judge have been incredible, especially over the last month.
On the season, Soto has a .322/.417/.614 slash line to go along with a 1.031 OPS. He enters Tuesday with the highest batting average in the American League and the second-highest fWAR (3.9) in MLB behind only Judge (4.0).
Meanwhile, he ranks top five in MLB in home runs (17), walks (40) and runs scored (46) entering Tuesday.
