New duds for the D.C. dudes.

Nike and MLB are continuing their City Connect initiative for the 2022 MLB season, with seven more teams getting unique, city-themed uniforms. The new designs will be unveiled between March and July, with the uniforms being worn on-field throughout the 2022 MLB season.

Leading off, the Washington Nationals, who are leaning pretty hard into the capital's pretty spring imagery with their cherry blossom-themed uniforms.

Here's a look at the Nats' City Connect uniform design:

Paying homage to Washington D.C.'s cherry blossoms, the uniforms feature a base gray (anthracite, the release says), which makes the pink of the cherry blossoms pop and stand out a bit more, along with the ivory of the detailed "WSH" on the front.

Juan Soto models the jersey below:

In addition to that, the "WSH" off the front features textures that pay homage to the city's "neoclassical architecture," the release says.

A closer look reveals that there are outlined cherry blossoms throughout the uniform, which is a nice touch and adds texture and detail to the design.

The caps feature the same font as the "W" from the chest, with the cherry blossom motif sticking through the cap, as well.

The City Connect uniforms will be worn during the Nationals' opening-weekend series against the Mets on Saturday, April 9.

On deck, the Houston Astros, who will first wear their City Connect uniforms on-field on April 20. Stay tuned for the reveal of that design in the coming weeks.
