The Chicago White Sox have finally put an end to their historically long losing streak.
The streak had reached 21 games, which tied the 1988 Baltimore Orioles for the longest in American League history. But they put an end to it with a 5-1 win over the Oakland Athletics at Oakland Coliseum on Tuesday night.
This hasn't stopped fans from criticizing them, however. On Foul Territory, Dave Williams of Barstool sports threw some shade in their direction.
"The White Sox are the most embarrassing organization in sports," Williams said.
The White Sox can certainly be considered as such. The organization has made some very questionable decisions that have led them to where they are now.
They hired Pedro Grifol to be their manager after the 2022 season and recently hired Chris Getz as their general manager, but there have been plenty of other missteps.
Almost nothing has gone right for the South Siders over the past two seasons. They've had players not pan out and have made plenty of poor decisions. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be much hope for a turnaround anytime soon.
Fans are furious with Owner Jerry Reinsdorf and are hoping for some change in the near future, but for now, the White Sox are stuck in neutral.
The opinion of the team certainly won't change until the organization undergoes a massive overhaul in the next few years. We'll see what the rest of the season brings for the White Sox.
